Ever since Little Miss was a baby she has had a strong attachment to 2 Winnie the Pooh stuffed animals that were mine when I was a baby. I had always wanted her first birthday party to be The Very Hungry Caterpillar (which she also loved so it was fitting) so when she continued to love the Winnie the Poohs stuffies, I knew her 2nd birthday party would have to be Winnie the Pooh themed. Over the last year she has received many Winnie the Pooh character stuffed animals from different people and has taken a liking to all of them. I’ve been pinning ideas for her Pooh party ever since her first birthday and a couple weeks ago she celebrated her 2nd birthday with the cutest little Winnie the Pooh party with all her favorite friends.
I didn’t get to all of the little projects that I wanted to, but everything turned out so cute and my Little Lady enjoyed her special day which is all that matters.
For starters, we needed an invitation. I loved hand making the invitations. I found one on Etsy that I liked, but being the thrifty mommy I am I couldn’t spend that much on it so I set out to make my own using cardstock I picked up from Joann fabrics and then wrote the word Pooh on each of them. I designed the shapes in powerpoint and then traced onto the paper.
And once the invitations were sent out the party just fell into place.
Here is the food table all set up.
My favorite part of the whole thing were the food signs that I made. Tutorial for the signs HERE.
On our Winnie the Pooh Party Menu was:
Pooh-tato Bar (baked potatoes with all the toppings)
Piglets In a Blanket (hotdogs in buns)
Eeyore’s House Sticks (pretzel sticks)
Rabbit’s Veggie Garden (Veggies & Dip)
Tigger Tails (Cheese Curls)
Owls Wings (chicken balls)
Kanga & Roo’ Pouches (applesauce pouches)
AND
Gopher’s Watering Hole (punch and water)
We also enjoyed some cupcakes made to look kind of like hunny pots.
Another little detail of the party was these cute honey pots I made by painting some yellow paint on some clay pots and writing HUNNY on them. We used these to hold the silverware and the straws for the drinks.
I also used various Winnie the Pooh books and her stuffed animals to decorate.
We ended the party by playing pin the tail on Eeyore. This was another favorite. One afternoon during nap, I got out all my painting supplies and got to creating this guy and all his tails for all the little ones to pin on him. I never knew painting could be so calming.
Nailed it
It was such a great day celebrating my baby girl and I look forward to planning and celebrating many more birthdays with her.
