We needed some fun colorful art for our Dinosaur wall so we whipped up these fun Tissue Paper collage Dinosaurs.

I used my Cricut to cut out the dinosaur shapes. Let me just tell you how amazing this thing is. It saves me soooo much time when cutting things out and the best part- I can use all of my own fonts and graphics (let’s just say I have a ton from the last 5 years selling teaching resources) and it is so quick and easy to use. Not to mention I am not a very detailed cutter and fine details on things drive me nuts so I tend to just never cut anything detailed out. But not anymore.
But anyway back on track. Each week during our Dinosaur unit, Little Miss would break out the glue and tissue paper squares and get to adding squares to a dinosaur. We use the purple Elmer's glue sticks so she can easily see where she has applied glue.
When I was doing my student teaching what seems like forever ago now, we did something similar but instead use a glue/water mixture and the kids painted on the glue, added tissue paper, and then “painted” over it with the glue/water mixture again. We kept it simple for ours, but will definitely be using this method for other things in the future.
Once they were dry, there were many fly away pieces so our dinosaurs didn’t quite look like dinosaurs.
I turned the dinos over and used scissors to cut along the dinosaur cutout to trim off any of the fly away pieces.
They turned out so cute and add a fun pop of color to our homeschool room.
