It's no question, we absolutely love our Busy Book activities in our house. They are some of my kids favorite things to get out and tinker with for fun. We love using our Bible Themed Busy Book activities during our morning time activities and the kids love pulling them out to do on their own throughout the day. With over 24 different activities, this set keeps them engaged and busy!
Bible Themed Busy Book Pages
This Bible Themed activity binder set will keep early learners busy and engaged with so many fun hands on learning activities as they learn about important stories from the Bible. What Is Included In the Bible Busy Book Set?
This set includes 24 different Busy Book activity pages. Each set comes with the mat and the pieces as well as the directions to prepare and play.
Books of the Bible: Old and New Testament
Learning the books of the Bible in order will help children to recognize the names of the books as well as easily be able to find a book and chapter when needed. In our home we have a fun little "song" I made up that helps us practice the order and this sheet has helped to make recognizing and order the books of the Bible even more engaging. The books are separated into Old and New Testament Sheets.
7 Days of Creation
God created all things in six days and on the seventh day He rested. Children will practice identifying what God created on each day and placing them in order.
Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." This activity helps children practice the fruit of the spirit. Each "fruit" is a different kind of fruit that they get to match up to the "shadow" on the tree.
The 10 Commandments
This 10 commandments activity is in reference to the commands God gave to Moses in Exodus 20:1-7. Children will put the 10 commandments in order on the stone mat. Learning the 10 Commandments can help us to know some of the ways to honor God by keeping his commands.
The Plagues
Moses approaches Pharaoh and says to let the people go, but Pharaoh does not agree and each time he doesn't let them go the Lord sends a plague. Children will placed the plaques in order with this Plagues of Egypt activity.
Armor of God Labeling
There is a battle raging around us. One between good and evil. Each day we must put on the full armor of God so that we are equipped to stand against the devils schemes. This fun labeling activity has two different versions, one for a boy and one for a girl, and children will label each of the pieces of armor with the actual "armor" we must put on each day based on Ephesians 6:10-20. When discussing the armor of God, be sure to discuss the 7th armor which is prayer. This is not included on the labeling sheet.
Skip Counting by 2s with Noah
Noah builds and ark and is to fill it with two of every kind of animal, male and female. Children will practice skip counting by 2s all the way to 100 (or whatever number they are able).
The Greatest Commandment Shadow Matching Memory Verse
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39 This activity is perfect for visual discrimination and has the children matching different sized hearts to their shadow.
John 3:16 Copywork
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 This is such an important verse and children will practice writing it out and committing it to memory with this copywork activity.
Daniel and the Lions Den Shape Matching
Daniel and the Lion's Den is a common favorite among kids. This activity is also another great visual discrimination activity. Each of the lions are a different shape. Children will match each of the lions to their "shadow" shape.
Adam and Eve Lies Vs. Truths Sort
All was perfect in the beginning, but then sin entered the world when Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the forbidden tree. The devil lied and convinced them that their eyes would be open if they ate the fruit. The devil prowls around speaking lies. The Lies vs. truths sorting activity looks at common lies and truths we see, hear, or believe. Children will sort them into correct categories.
Label the Nativity
Children will label the nativity scene. Labeling activities are great for expanding and learning new vocabulary.
Parting of the Red Sea Capital and Lowercase Letter Match
Jesus parted the Red Sea when Moses needed to cross to escape Pharaoh. Children will match the capital letter to the lowercase letter. One of the sets of activities also has a spot for children will trace the letters for extra practice.
Jonah and the Whale Numbers 0-30 Dot to Dot
Jonah spent some time in the belly of a big fish. Many often say that it was a whale. Jonah and the whale. "From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the Lord his God." Jonah 2:1 This dot to dot, when completed makes a whale.
Feeding the 5000 Counting to 10 Practice
The Lord performed a miracle when we fed the 5000 people. The feeding the 5000 activity practice counting up to 10. Children will use loaves of bread and fish to count out the corresponding number.
David and Goliath Tracing Page
David killed Goliath with one stone. The Lord was with David that day. Children will help David's stone hit Goliath by tracing the lines from David to Goliath. Prewriting is such an important skill for younger learners to practice and helps children develop the skills needed to write letters and numbers.
Teach Us To Number Our Days Verse & Telling Time Activity
"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12 Each of us has the same amount of time in a day. We must use our time wisely for Him. This activity helps children practice telling time.
Joseph's Colorful Coat Color Matching
Joseph had a beautiful colorful coat. Children will match the colorful coats with their color word.
The Walls of Jericho Came Tumbling Down Rhyming
Rhyming is an important early literacy skill that children should be able to do. The walls of Jericho came tumbling down when the trumpets sounded. The wall stones will be on the mat. Children will pick a trumpet card, say the word, and the find the wall piece that has a picture that rhymes with the one on the trumpet. They will continue this until all of the walls are down.
Tithing: Money Amounts
All we have belongs to the Lord. We are to give back the first portion of all we have to the Lord. This activity will introduce children to tithing and help them to practice money concepts.
It Is Finished Holy Week Sequencing
There were numerous events that took palce the week leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection. This activity puts the events of Holy week in order.
Jesus is the Way, Truth, & Life Puzzle
Jesus answered, " I am the way and the truth and the life. Noone comes to the father except through me." This activity is a puzzle that children will have fun putting together and then they can learn the verse.
John 15:5 Verse Completion
Children will fill in the missing words of the verse John 15:5. John 15:5 is a super important verse to understand. If we remain connected to the Lord, like a branch is to a vine, we will bear fruit and our lives will reflect Him in us. We are unable to do anything apart from Christ.
I am Praying For 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Verse & Prayer Sheet (B/G Versions)
This last activity has a sheet for boys and girls and is simply a sheet children can use to record their prayers and praises and they can practice learning 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
