These 8 books about shapes are sure to please even the littlest readers. These shape themed books are great for toddlers, preschoolers, and school aged children and are great to accompany your shape themed learning activities.
****************************************
Mouse Shapes by Ellen Stoll Walsh: Kids will have fun learning all about their shapes with this colorful book about three mice running from a cat and in the process of running they begin to stumble upon shapes of many colors and sizes. They turn those shapes into beautiful designs and even come up with a clever plan to trick the cat. You can extend the reading of the book by giving your little ones shapes that they can then turn into different objects, animals, etc.
A Circle Here, A Square There by David Diehl: Kids will have fun learning all about how everyday objects look like certain shapes with this fun colorful book. My daughter loves pointing out the different everyday objects and then telling me “Look mama, a triangle pizza.”
Shape By Shape by Suse MacDonald: Doesn’t the cover on this book just scream “Read Me!!!” Amazon says it best “As readers turn the brightly colored, die cut pages, shapes on each page come together to reveal a creature from long ago.” Circles are transformed into eyes and triangles into scales. This book is sure to be loved by your little ones.
Color Zoo by Lois Ehlert: In this awesome book, shapes build upon shapes to then form familiar zoo animals that your kids will love.  This is an amazing book that shows just how simple it is to combine shapes and transform them into objects and things in our world. The book provides labels to help children identify each of the shapes.
Shapes, Shapes, Shapes by Tana Hoban: This is a great book that will help kids discover just how many shapes we see all around us on an everyday basis. After reading this book, Im sure your little ones will be pointing out shapes all around you wherever they go. This book leads to great discussions with your little one and is great for language development.
When A Line Bends…A Shape Begins by Rhonda Gowler Greene: I absolutely love a good rhyming book, especially one that teaches something. This book is so fun and is full of rhymes all about all the different shapes. Kids will have fun finding all the different shapes within each of the vibrantly colored pages.
Color Farm by Lois Ehlert: In this awesome book, shapes build upon shapes to then form familiar farm animals that your kids will love.  This is an amazing book that shows just how simple it is to combine shapes and transform them into objects and things in our world. The book provides labels to help children identify each of the shapes.
The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns: The greedy triangle is unhappy with how he looks and sets out to be turned into a different shape and then another and another and with each new angle that is added he turns into a different shape. This book is great for teaching kids all about angles and showing how one little change can make all sorts of shapes.
