Farm Animal Gross Motor Movement & Sound Activity Cards

If you have children, you know just how important it is for them to get those “wiggles” out and to practice their gross motor skills. These farm animal cards are perfect for gross motor play and are the perfect addition to any farm learning theme.

We have been having so much fun learning all about the farm and farm animals. We have been learning all about the sounds and movements the animals make, as well as so many other fun facts. I whipped up some fun movement and sound cards and we have been playing with these, both inside and outside, for the last couple weeks.These are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

Prep the Movement Cards

MATERIALS YOU NEED

• Farm Animal Movement Cards Printable
  
• Laminator and laminating sheets
• Cube Dice or cube shaped box
  

To get started you will print the cards from the file below. I like to laminate the cards for durability and then cut them out. Then you can slide them into the pockets of the cube dice or attach them to the sides of a cube shaped box. 

How to Play

Once your cards and dice are prepped game play is super simple. The child will toss the cube and follow the directions on the cube. If they are unable to read, read the card to them and then have them complete the task on the card. Some of the examples of things on the cards are neigh like a horse, pounce like a cat, and run like a dog. 

Not only will they have fun moving like and making the sounds of all of the animals, but they will have fun tossing the cube. There are enough cards to fill several different cubes, but we only play with one cube at a time. I like to have all three cubes ready to go.  

These differentiated activity cubes are one of most used materials we use for activities with our toddler and preschooler. There are so many different ways you can use them. They can be reused over and over again which makes them well worth purchasing.

These movement cards are created to fit perfectly in these cubes, but could also be taped to a cardboard box if that is all you have. But I honestly would suggest investing in these cubes. They are that amazing and time saving.
