One of our favorite farm books on repeat during our farm themed activities has been Mrs. Wishy Washy’s Farm. We have a couple different versions of this book and it has been a popular one for a long while.
We also love painting with things other than paintbrushes and since we were learning all about the different farm animals we decided to see what types of tracks each of the animals made.

This activity is super simple to set up. I taped a piece of paper down to her tray so it didn’t move all over the place, added some paint to a plate, and gave her some of our farm animal toys.
She dipped the animals feet into the paint and had fun walking them around the paper.
The messy animals looked just like the farm animals did in Mrs. Wishy Washy’s Farm. Little Miss giggled and giggled when she saw that her animals were getting all messy just like the cow, duck, and pig.
And of course in order to get all cleaned up, the cow, duck, and pig all had to take a bath. “in the tub you go. Wishy Washy. Wish Washy.”
Give my girl some water and you better believe she will play for hours. She loved giving all her animals a bath and making a huge puddle on the floor in the process. Having her clean up her animals is a great Montessori Practical life activity. She is learning that she has to clean up the messes she makes.
These are such simple, practical activities that you can do to do after reading Mrs. Wishy Washy’s Farm.
