A place for everything and everything in it’s place. I love organizing and keeping our playroom and art supplies tidy is definitely high on my list of things that make me happy. Being able to provide an environment for my kids to know where everything goes is vital to a happy tidy home.
After using our home visual schedule cards for several months and them becoming a valuable resource to our day, I knew we needed some visual labels in our playroom to help us know where all of our toys go.
While both kids are pretty good about putting everything back where it goes, we have many playdates at our house and the phrase I often hear from moms is “I don’t know where this goes”, as they are trying to help tidy up before them leave. Having labels on the items will help our friends know where to put items back when they visit as well as provide a print rich environment for my own kids.
These cards coordinate perfectly with our home visual schedule cards, which are still working great months later. (Note to self…do NOT try to deviate from the schedule or power struggles will ensue.")
For right now I have the cards attached to my baskets and items with blue sticky tac. I am thinking I might hole punch them and tie them on with jute as in just a few days I have had to reattach them multiple times due to a little tornado, er I mean boy pulling them off.
I laminated all of the cards first so that they would withstand playroom wear and tear.
We even added some to our art cart and art supplies in our school room.
